The Department of Public Works (DPW) has sent out recycling notices to 1-6 family property owners whose tenants are violating recycling laws. Your property has been provided with blue recycling carts for City collection, and these must be used for acceptable recyclables in accordance with state and local law. Acceptable recyclables are listed on the back side of the recycling notice.
The DPW has computer reports providing information on which properties do and do not use their blue recycling carts. Our report indicated your property as one that does not place its carts on the curb for collection.
Just by recycling, your property can save the City of Hartford a cost per ton of material that is not placed in trash bins! Recycling is also the law. You could face fines if the problem continues.

You can drop off recyclables for free at the Hartford Bulky Waste & Recycling Center, 180 Leibert Road, Hartford, with a green permit. The Center also accepts items such as couches, mattresses, and electronics, with the proper permit. Permit fees and accepted items can be found here.
