(March, 5, 2013) – On Wednesday, March 20, Mayor Pedro E. Segarra will host a breakfast for area employers to encourage the hiring of Hartford residents. The event is a partnership between the City of Hartford and the state’s Subsidized Training and Employment Program (Step Up), an initiative of the Connecticut Department of Labor’s CTWorks and Capital Workforce Partners.
“The purpose of this breakfast is to thank those who have hired Hartford residents and to encourage more employers to do so,” said Segarra. “We’re investing in training programs, in summer youth employment, in hiring incentives and the bottom line is we have to continue to do everything we can to ensure our families are self-sustaining.”
