MAYOR SEGARRA STATEMENT ON TERRORIST ATTACK IN LIBYA

(September 12, 2012) – Today, Mayor Pedro E. Segarra released the following statement in honor of the victims of this morning’s terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya.

“While we cannot take away the suffering of the families of the victims, we stand with the President and the Governor in condemning those responsible for this outrageous attack,” said Mayor Segarra.  “This act of overt terrorism is sad and senseless. It is especially tragic on the heels of 9/11. Our deepest sympathies go out to the families, friends and loved ones of those who lost their lives today while trying to promote peace and diplomacy.”

In solidarity, the City of Hartford has lowered its flags to half-staff until sunset on September 16, 2012.
