15 Arrest After Narcotics Operation

On October 21, 2015, Detectives from the Hartford Police Department's Vice and Narcotics Unit assisted by Hartford STF-(With CSP & Regional Police Officers) and North District CSOs conducted an undercover narcotics surveillance operation in the area of 154 and 179 Mather Street, 116 Brook Street and Bedford Mall. This operation was conducted in response to several recent shootings and citizen complaints of open air drug sales. Undercover detectives conducted surveillance in the area and were able to identify prospective buyers and sellers of narcotics. A total of fifteen (15) individuals were arrested and charged with various narcotics charges.

47 bags of suspected PCP
37 bags of marijuana
5 grams of crack cocaine
numerous packaging material associated with manufacturing PCP.
Evidence: $1796 in U.S. currency.

Gun Arrest October 20, 2015

On October 20, 2015, Hartford Police Department Vice and Narcotics Detectives received information that a male individual operating a black vehicle, leaving a specific automotive business, may be in possession of a firearm. Surveillance was established in the area and the HPD Detectives observed a male suspect walk to a black Chevy SUV. This vehicle violated several CT. motor vehicle violations as it traveled north on Windsor Street, then north on Main Street. A motor vehicle stop was conducted in front of 275 Tower Avenue. While conducting the motor vehicle stop the Detectives were able to see the handle of the firearm protruding from underneath the driver's seat of the vehicle. Located was a fully loaded Glock, model 27. The operator was identified as a convicted felon and placed under arrest for several gun related charges.

Evidence: One black Glock, model 27 .40 caliber semi-auto firearm (fully loaded 9 live rounds)

Narcotics Operation Arrest

On October 20, 2015, at 5:00 p.m., Hartford Police Department Vice and Narcotic Detectives, with the assistance of the FBI Narco Task Force and the Hartford Police Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant at 535 Zion Street, 2nd floor. HPD Detectives were able to obtain credible information that an individual was selling illegal narcotics from the 2nd floor apartment. A search of the apartment interior revealed three individuals inside the apartment, two of which were found to be in possession of narcotics. The third individual was determined to have an out of town warrant. In addition, an individual in the rear parking lot of the building was also found to be in possession of narcotics. All individuals were placed under arrest for the appropriate charges and transported to the Hartford Police Booking Facility. License and Inspections arrived on scene and determined that the building was uninhabitable and would be shut down.
