STF Arrest in Weekend Shooting

On Saturday, July 18, 2015, at 7:51pm, Hartford Police Department Patrol Officers on Main St. reported hearing gun shots coming from inside the building of 2006 Main Street. As the officers approached the building, they located a victim bleeding heavily and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Additional, Patrol Officers and STF investigators responded to assist. STF Investigated and developed a suspect with the street name of "Debo". At the hospital, the victim was at one point in critical condition, suffering from six gunshot wounds to the head, neck, chest, back and shoulder. STF investigators identified "Debo" as Deshawn Walton. Several investigative leads were developed leading to the preparation of an arrest warrant for the accused shooter Deshawn Walton. On July 21, 2015, the arrest warrant was granted at GA14 with a Judge set bond $3,500,000.00 bond. Accused Walton was apprehended by members of the STF in Hartford on July 23rd, 2015.

Arrest: Deshawn Walton, 20, of Hartford, CT.

Charges; Carrying a Pistol w/o a Permit, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Criminal Attempt Murder and Assault 1st Degree.

Victim: Tequan Vail, 25, of Windsor, CT.

Threatening with a Firearm/2370 Main Street

On July 22, 2015, at 11:50pm, Patrol Officers from the Hartford Police Department responded to 2370 Main Street (La Soberana) grocery store on a report of a store clerk pointing a firearm at a customer. Upon arrival, officers were met with an uncooperative male store clerk, who initially refused to allow officers in the store. During the investigation, officers found a silver 380 caliber gun, containing three rounds, in the store clerk's right front pocket.
The victim stated to Police, she was in the store making a purchase when the store clerk pulled a small gray gun out, chambered a round, and pointed it at her. The store clerk, who initially gave officers the alias name of Wilkin Rivas-Trinidad, was later identified as Luisito Rivas, 36, of Hartford, C.T. The investigation revealed pills and 2 small clear zip lock bags containing white powdery substance which tested positive as cocaine. Rivas was arrested and transported to the Hartford Police Booking facility where he was charged accordingly.

Recovered: One gray, Jimenez Arms 380 caliber gun with three rounds in the magazine
