August 20, 2014, During a motor vehicle stop in the area of Park street and Washington Street, two individuals were arrested for the possession of narcotics. The Hartford Police Department was able to seize 1,523 bags of heroin and $415 from the vehicle. The heroin was packaged for street level sales. The individuals arrested were, Thomas Bruno (DoB 3/11/92) of 121 Sission Avenue, Hartford and Christopher Barros (DoB 6/7/94) of 1040 Capital Avenue, Hartford.
Charges included: Possession of Narcotics, Possession of Narcotics with intention to sell Narcotics, Possession of Narcotics within 1500ft of a school and other various motor vehicle related charges.
Hartford Police Department's PAL program spent a day in the community garden on Earle Street. Learning where foods come from, nutrition, and community service are just a few things these PAL participants learn throughout the year.
The Hartford Police Department PAL program provides youth, between the ages of 6 to 18, with alternatives to violence, gang membership, truancy and substance abuse. PAL programs instill the importance of integrity, respect, discipline, self-esteem, leadership, teamwork and other valuable life skills that increase individual self-worth and breed success.
