Traffic Advisory for Trinity Street
Beginning Monday, August 4, 2014, Trinity Street will be closed between Elm Street and Ford Street for maintenance of the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Arch and street construction. This closure is expected to last one week.
On July 31, 2014 at approx. 3:44am the Hartford Public Safety dispatch center received 911 calls regarding a shot fired and an attempted robbery. Hartford Police Patrol Officers converged on the area, and a perimeter was established. An Officer observed the suspect, exited his cruiser and chased him on foot. In a rear yard on Campfield Ave. the Officer came around the corner of a house to observe the suspect already pointing a hand gun at him. The Officer fired two shots and sought cover. The suspect again ran on foot and was eventually located by responding HPD C Squad Patrol Officers. The suspect was not struck by the officer's gun fire. The suspect's gun, a Glock 17 9mm, was also recovered.
The victim of the robbery on Broad St. was located and was uninjured. A single shell casing was recovered on Broad St. The Hartford Police Major Crimes Division and the Crime Scene Division responded to conduct the investigation. The CT State's Attorney's Office in Hartford was notified.
Accused: Derrick Gray, 28, of Hartford CT. Gray is a convicted felon.

Gray was also charged for an outstanding Violation of Probation warrant. He is being held on a $775,000 bond.
At the end of March 2014, the Hartford Police Department Special Investigations Division received information that there was child pornography being shared over the internet. The address was identified as 702 Mary Shepard Place. On July 23, 2014, a search and seizure warrant was executed on 702 Mary Shepard Place and numerous computer and media related items were seized. A resident of this address, Faustino Cotto (10/26/1983), was identified as a possible suspect involved in the possession and sharing of the child pornography. After analyzing some of the seized items, S.I.D. detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Faustino Cotto. On July 31, 2014, Faustino Cotto was arrested outside his residence and charged with Possession of Child Pornography, Promoting a Minor in an Obscene Performance, and Obscenity. More analysis is being done on the remaining computer and media related items to determine if more charges will be brought.
