Maple Ave Surveillance Leads to Arrest
On April 7, 2015 undercover Detectives from the Hartford Police Department Vice, Intelligence and Narcotics Division developed information that a large amount of heroin was being packaged at 1067 Maple Ave. Surveillance was setup in the area by undercover Detectives from the HPD Vice, Intelligence and Narcotics Division as well as Detectives from the State Police Task Force and officers from the HPD South Conditions Unit. The target was observed exiting 1067 Maple Ave., carrying a large bag and entering a vehicle. During the investigation, a motor vehicle stop was conducted on this vehicle at which time the passenger/target exited the vehicle and attempted to flee from the officers. The accused was caught and found in possession of 1600 bags of Heroin. During a search of his residence, detectives recovered 3400 individual bags of heroin and 144 grams pure Heroin along with packaging material. Based on the dynamics of the investigation, the target was arrested on federal charges.
