Larceny of Computers at School

Six Lenovo Laptop Computers, approximately $536.00 per computer, were stolen from the Martin Luther King School located on 25 Ridgefield Street. The inicident was brought to the attention of school administrators after a parent volunteer at the school noticed a storage room door unlocked on July 7, 2014. She was aware that computers are stored there. She notified the Principal's Executive Assistant. The Hartford Police Department was notified and responded. The door to the storage room is a self-locking door and was last seen locked prior to the holiday weekend. There were no obvious signs of forced entry. Only a limited number of employees are intended to have access to the storage room. Burglary detectives were notified and responded. A Canvass for witnesses and suspects came back negative. HPD is working with school security and the investigation is ongoing.
