Traffic Operations Engineer

POSITION

Vacancy is in the Transportation Services Division of the Department of Public Works. Under direction, assists in the administration of a citywide traffic engineering program by planning, supervising and participating in the activities of a major traffic engineering functions. Plans, supervises, and participates in the installation and maintenance of traffic control devices. Drives to various parts of the City to monitor the installation and the operation of traffic lights. Assists in the planning, development, and operation of a citywide parking program for both on-and-off street facilities. Attend public meetings and public hearings during evening hours. Respond to various requests for traffic calming including maintaining bus shelters, poles and paving markings.
