Over
the past 4 years, the City has been
implementing what is known as an “Enterprise
Resource Planning” (ERP) software system.
An ERP is defined as a software
system that coordinates every important
aspect of an organization's production into
one seamless process so that maximum
efficiency can be achieved. In 2005 the
City issued an RFP and selected Tyler
Technology’s MUNIS System to provide this
seamless integration. The tax office was
the first to implement the software,
followed by Licenses and Inspections,
Environmental Health, Human Resources and
the Finance Department. Now the city has a
truly integrated system to track services,
analyze their cost, and maintain
comprehensive records and reports.
